Janet Swain, choir leader, songwriter and event organiser, lives and works on Bundjalung country in the Northern Rivers of NSW. She directs four choirs called Big Voice, and twice a year the choirs join together for epic and imaginative concerts. Janet is always exploring new and exciting ways to present choral music.
Over a diverse, accomplished and eclectic musical career, Janet has lived in Tokyo, Kuwait and Singapore, and also worked as an English teacher with the British Council in Singapore for 3 years.
For the past 8 years, Janet has also been involved with the African Children’s Choir in Uganda, and has twice travelled to Kampala to work and teach with the organisation, as well as helping to organise three Australian tours.
